Located at the R A McDonald Pavilion, Anchor Point Bassendean provides disengaged young people with an alternative to traditional high school.
We offer students a flexible environment where they can complete their education while getting the extra one-on-one support they need to reach their future career potential. Students (aged 15-19) are given the opportunity to complete their Certificate I or II in General Education as well as other short courses such as First Aid.
At Youth Futures we understand that life is complex and that each person’s path to success is unique. That’s why Anchor Point Bassendean operates differently to traditional schools;
HIGH STAFF TO STUDENT RATIO
To make sure each student gets the support they need, we have 1 staff member for every 7 students.
A STUDENT CARE APPROACH
In addition to educators, students have access to youth workers, a literacy coach and a clinical psychologist.
A TAILORED APPROACH
We know that young people learn in different ways. That’s why we make our lessons engaging and hands on. We also take students on regular excursions to enhance their learning and increase their knowledge of potential career pathways.
Our students leave Anchor Point with skills that will help them succeed in life. These include budgeting, cooking, social skills, conflict resolution, job-seeking, and interview skills.
We help students overcome their personal barriers and assist them to create an education plan that is meaningful to them.
